Stress vs. Trauma cont…

Stay tuned—here it is!
As promised, here’s the Stress vs. Trauma Checklist—a simple, supportive tool to help you recognize where your nervous system might be operating from, and why it matters.

This isn’t about labeling or diagnosing—it’s about understanding yourself with more compassion. Sometimes we minimize our experience because we don’t have the language for it. This guide helps put words to what your body and mind might already know.
Use it to:
• Notice patterns
• Support your self-awareness
• Choose tools that actually meet your needs
• And remind yourself that you’re not “too sensitive”—you’re responding to lived experience.

You can print it, screenshot it, or add it to your self-healing journal. Healing begins with awareness—and you’re already doing that.

Additional Support for Your Healing
If you recognized yourself in both the “stress” and “trauma” columns—that’s okay. Healing isn’t about putting yourself in a box. It’s about understanding the full picture of what you’ve carried and how it’s shaped you. The more we learn to notice our patterns with gentleness, the more we can meet ourselves with care instead of criticism.

A few ways to support your nervous system today:
• Take a few minutes to ground with your senses (What can you see, hear, touch right now?)
• Practice slow, intentional breathing—just 3 deep breaths can signal safety to your body
• Limit input (even 10 minutes off your phone can reset your overwhelm)
• Offer yourself one phrase of compassion, like: “I’m doing the best I can with what I have.”
These small actions add up. You don’t have to wait until you feel “ready” or “fixed” to start tending to yourself with love.
