How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?
Life has a way of teaching us through experience, shaping us in ways we often don’t recognize until we reflect on the past. In my younger years, I viewed significant events as isolated moments—things that happened to me. But as time has passed, I’ve realized that even the most challenging experiences held valuable lessons, shaping my perspective and growth.
Some of my greatest lessons have come from the darkest times. In those moments, it was hard to see beyond the struggle, but looking back, I now understand that those challenges were essential. They pushed me, broke me open, and forced me to grow in ways I never would have otherwise.
One lesson I once resisted was the idea of focusing on myself. For so long, I believed that prioritizing my own well-being was selfish. But over time, I’ve learned that if you don’t take care of yourself first, you won’t have the strength to truly care for anyone else. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.
Now, I see challenges not as barriers but as stepping stones. Each hardship has taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of self-compassion. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
