“Embracing the Journey: A Life of Hope, Healing, and Growth”
If there were a biography written about me, that would be the title. Why? Because my life has been a series of chapters defined by resilience, learning, and a fierce determination to turn every setback into a stepping stone.

Hope is woven into every part of my story—hope that change is possible, hope that stigma can be shattered, and hope that even when life feels impossible, there’s a brighter moment around the corner. From the early days of recovery, when I wanted to shout my progress from the rooftops, to the times I struggled with anxiety and self-doubt, hope was the driving force that kept me moving forward.

Healing isn’t always linear, but it’s a journey I’ve embraced wholeheartedly. Whether it was confronting stigma in my career, finding a balance between work and family, or learning how to truly prioritize my own well-being, every challenge led me to deeper self-awareness and a stronger sense of purpose. Photography, writing, mindfulness, and music became my anchors—reminders that there is beauty and meaning in the smallest moments, and that it’s okay to let go of the past to make room for the future.

And then there’s growth, the ever-evolving process of becoming the person I want to be. For me, growth has meant learning to set boundaries, championing the use of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in a world that still clings to outdated notions, and advocating for others who feel unheard or misunderstood. It’s meant juggling the roles of wife, mom (of both humans and pets!), professional, and recovery advocate, all while trying to maintain that spark of passion for life.

So if someone were to write my biography, I’d want readers to see that I’m not defined by one moment or one struggle. I’m defined by the ongoing process of embracing the journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. That’s the essence of who I am: a work in progress, fueled by hope, committed to healing, and dedicated to growing every day.
