Life has been a whirlwind lately, with long hours devoted to work and little time to truly pause and recharge. So when the opportunity arose for a trip to Chicago for my son’s ice hockey tournament, I knew this was more than just a sports event—it was a much-needed break for our family.
From the moment we arrived, I made it my mission to be fully present. Too often, life moves so fast that we forget to soak in the moments that matter. This time, I was intentional—enjoying the simple joys of being with my family, exploring the city, and embracing new experiences.
Chicago’s energy was contagious. Between cheering at the rink, wandering through bustling streets, and taking in the sights, every moment felt like a reminder of how important it is to step away from routine and reconnect—with family, with adventure, and with ourselves.
This trip wasn’t just about hockey; it was about balance. It was a chance to remind myself that while work is important, so is living. And sometimes, the best thing we can do is take a break, be in the moment, and make memories that will last far beyond the trip itself.
